Regular training sessions are held F2F in the library study rooms. Please email: librarytraining@somersetft.nhs.uk or telephone: 01823 342433 to arrange a training session with a librarian. To access the native databases using EBSCo, OVID or ProQuest, use this link

Searching the Native Databases

Advanced searches will require use of the native databases which can be accessed through three different interfaces: EBSCO, Ovid and ProQuest. Whilst the principles of creating a search strategy remain the same, each interface has its own syntax and controlled vocabulary. You can request a training session with a librarian and we advise watching the videos below, created by the interface providers to help you.

Referencing

If you are studying for an academic qualification or writing an academic paper you will need to use a reference manager. Your university should provide training but if you need further assistance please see the videos under the Reference Manager tab of this libguide, or contact us.
