IMPORTANT MESSAGE re: Primary Care KLS provision from 1st April 2024
Please note, that from 1st April 2024, pilot funding for the Primary Care Knowledge & Evidence Specialist role will cease.
Primary Care staff in Somerset will still be able to benefit from registering with the Somerset NHS Foundation Trust Knowledge & Library Service and have access to the core services:
However, we will not be able to provide evidence searching or training.
We continue to seek local funding to re-instate the Knowledge & Evidence Specialist role.
Please contact Cate Newell, Knowledge & Library Service Manager if you would like to discuss this further.

Our service aims to support evidence based practice in primary care.
We have curated resources for patients to facilitate shared decision making and patient agency in their own healthcare needs.
Please spend a few minutes completing our user survey to help us measure the impact of the primary care library service.
You can search for books held in our library or other libraries in our network using this link.
If the book that you require is available at a library other than Taunton, just send us an email and we will arrange to borrow it for you. You may borrow up to three inter-library loans at any one time.
In total you may borrow eight books at a time, loans are for 4 weeks and can be renewed 3 times.
