Primary Care Resources

IMPORTANT MESSAGE re: Primary Care KLS provision from 1st April 2024

Please note, that from 1st April 2024, pilot funding for the Primary Care Knowledge & Evidence Specialist role will cease.

Primary Care staff in Somerset will still be able to benefit from registering with the Somerset NHS Foundation Trust Knowledge & Library Service and have access to the core services:

  • Register to join the Library
  • Physical access to collections and study space in the libraries at Musgrove Park Hospital and Yeovil District Hospital, during staffed hours (Mon-Fri 8:30-4:30) – or 24/7 at Musgrove Park Hospital.
  • Support with NHS OpenAthens and accessing nationally purchased resources & databases such as BMJ Best Practice, Royal Marsden Manual.
  • Document supply (books and articles)
  • Current awareness email bulletins from KnowledgeShare

However, we will not be able to provide evidence searching or training.

We continue to seek local funding to re-instate the Knowledge & Evidence Specialist role.

Please contact Cate Newell, Knowledge & Library Service Manager if you would like to discuss this further.

Welcome to the LibGuides pages for the Somerset GP Training Hub, created and maintained by the Knowledge and Library Service at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust. If there is anything that you are not sure about, or you would like help with, please contact the Library & Knowledge Services Team - LibraryPrimaryCare@somersetft.nhs.uk
